Marcia has worked for the Cape Elizabeth School Department since 2019 and has been in her current role for over five years. Prior to that, she worked for Portland Public Schools for two years and for Pinal County Government in her role as the budget director for eleven years. Marcia has extensive knowledge in budgeting and financial forecasting which helps maintain the financial strength of the school department. She has a strong background in grant writing, and fiscal management of the grants for the Cape Elizabeth School Department. Marcia has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Arizona State University. In 2022 she earned a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.
Denise has been with the Town and Cape Elizabeth School Department for five years. Prior to Cape Elizabeth, Denise worked at the Town of Naugatuck, Connecticut for thirteen years, the last two years as the assistant controller. She has a robust background in financial accounting, especially within the public sector. She has extensive knowledge of accounting software programs, which makes her proficient with various tools that can streamline financial processes, enhance accuracy and analyses. She has a strong grasp of standard practices and regulations, which is essential for maintaining financial integrity and supporting strategic decision-making.
Susan has been with the Town and Cape Elizabeth School Department since November of 2022. Prior to coming to Cape Elizabeth, Susan worked for Runyon, Kersteen, Ouellette, Public Accountants and South Portland School Department. During her time at RKO, Susan was part of the Municipal Auditing team and audited many municipalities in the State of Maine. Susan spent over ten years in theBusiness Office at South Portland Schools focusing on Special Education and Accounts Payable.Susan’s knowledge includes a strong base in MUNIS, finance, audits and grants as well as extensive knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
Sue came to the Town of Cape Elizabeth in 2022 after serving as the HR Director at Portland Gastroenterology Center for 8 years. Her previous experience includes 18 years at the South Portland School Department Business Office.
Andrew has been with the Town and the Cape Elizabeth School Department since August 2023. Prior to this, he worked as an accountant at Olympia Hotel Management for five years. He has experience in full-cycle month/year end reporting, as well as a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products and various accounting softwares. This expertise supports his commitment to maintaining sound accounting and financial practices.
John has been with the Town and Cape Elizabeth School Department since December 2017. He started his career in Cape Elizabeth in the Facilities Department working as a Custodian. In 2021 he was promoted to the position of Operations Manager for Facilities after obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern Maine. He coordinated the work throughout the district, handled department payroll and managed the Facilities staff.
