Cape Robotics Hosts Thrilling Winter Competition
On Saturday, January 18th, Cape Robotics welcomed 39 teams from across the state to their annual winter competition at CEMS. Nine Cape teams showcased their skills, with outstanding results.
In a heart-pumping high school tournament final, duo 56S (Jonah Chang, Hudson Charlebois, Noah Scott, Finnegan Zwintscher) and 56F (Ayden Diamond, Erik Frey, Brendan Oakley) edged out 56R (Ezra Gabrielson, Alex Kang, Wren Venter) and their partner from Fryeburg Academy.
The awards kept coming for Cape Robotics:
56S: Excellence Award and Robot Skills Champion Award
56R: Create Award
56F: Design Award
The following CEHS high school teams also delivered their best performances of the season:
56H (Luc Dallaire, Aman Khare, Nick Snow)
56M (Massie Aouragh, Sam Greenfield, Finnegan Ketcham)
56T (Sam Hebda, Alex Reeves, Emmett Wood)
CEMS teams also performed exceptionally well. Eighth grade team 56K (Patrick Rolfe, Bennett Kang, Alex Markott, Elliot Hughes, Ben Foley) won their second Middle School Excellence Award of the season, this award being the highest overall award a team can receive. Seventh grade team 56P (Elliott Venter, Shaw Sandals, Ruby Edwards, Alex Ferrey, Kellan Litton) took the Energy Award, and had their best performance of the season. Also, eighth grade team 56D (Emmy Scott, Nina Perea, Delia Shambaugh, Max Tullman, Anika Wark, Charlie DeBruyn, Lorelei Rogers) placed 8th overall in the very first competition this year. Middle school teams compete head-to-head with high school teams, making our CEMS students' achievements particularly impressive.
Congratulations to all participating teams on an exciting competition!
